"Greek Americans and The Hellenic Diaspora" Professor Gregory Jusdanis, Ohio State University, a specialist on Modern Greek literature and past recipient of a Guggenheim award, launched the first of a series of lectures on the subject of the Hellenic diaspora by invited scholars to the Center for Modern Greek Studies. Professor Jusdanis's talk addressed key issues concerning Greek Americans, the Hellenic diaspora and globalization. Professor Jusdanis is the author of two books, The Poetics of Cavafy: Textuality, Eroticism and History and Belated Modernity and Aesthetic Culture: Inventing National Literature, as well as a number of articles on the subject of the diaspora and multiculturalism.
